Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Bag groceries efficiently at checkout to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Strive to place a minimum of five items in each bag while protecting item integrity.
• Utilize best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist customers by removing items from their bascarts for checkout.
• Offer help to customers in loading bags into their vehicles.
• Conduct basic shelf conditioning and restock merchandise as needed.
• Inform customers about ongoing grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves, maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Collect bascarts and restore them to designated areas.
• Ensure a clean environment by addressing spills and removing trash inside and outside the store.
• Handle and organize seasonal merchandise effectively.
• Familiarize yourself with the store layout to assist customers in finding products and conducting price checks.
• Support safety initiatives by adhering to safety regulations and reporting any unsafe conditions to management.
• Follow all food safety guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere, making customers feel valued by addressing their questions about products.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, along with company policies.
• Demonstrate teamwork and maintain composure in fast-paced and high-stress environments.
• Manage conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner.
• Act with integrity when handling customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues.
• Provide assistance and support directly to different customer demographics, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective communication abilities.

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Previous experience in retail is a plus but not mandatory.
