The Position

We are hiring for a skilled and relational Property Accountant to join our team in Spokane, WA. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for full-cycle accounting functions for a portfolio of multifamily communities.

  • Perform full-cycle accounting for 6-8 communities, including accounts payable, journal entries, monthly accruals, and reconciliations through month-end financial statement preparation.
  • Collaborate daily with Assistant Community Directors, Community Directors, and Regional Support team members.
  • Communicate with new and existing vendors to ensure vendor compliance.
  • Review invoice entries and coding for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Process electronic transfers and vendor payments.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Calculate and process monthly property management fees.
  • Calculate and process monthly owner distributions.
  • Generate and review monthly rent rolls as part of the financial reporting process.
  • Prepare month-end financial packages in accordance with GAAP, analyze variances, and distribute reports to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute required lender and compliance documentation.
  • Compile and prepare reserve for replacement escrow distribution requests.
  • Support management with special projects and other assigned tasks.

What We Are Seeking

  • Excellent communication skills; must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of general accounting experience required.
  • Prior experience in the property management industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and insured, operable vehicle.

  • Noise: frequent exposure to typical office environment noise levels including conversational voice levels; infrequent exposure to high-volume office equipment (e.g., shredder).
  • Pace of Work: great, multi-tasking/pressure paced environment.
