Summary of Functions
The SUDP shall serve as the primary contact person with their assigned clinic patients. It is through the counselor's ongoing individual contracts with his/her patients that the major objectives of treatment are attained. The incumbent shall provide assigned patients with necessary program information and scheduling referrals to internal and external resources, individual counseling, and guidance in developing their treatment plans and goals. The nature of this position is fast-paced in high-stress situation and conditions. The SUDP will report to the Clinic Lead/Supervisor.
The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Substance Use Disorder Professional should adhere to and value the philosophical priorities of the HARM reduction Model, that Medication Assisted Treatment is the preferred method of addressing opioid addiction and that every patient deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and dignity.
