JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Sr Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing team.

Job Summary

The Senior Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and strategic management of all inventories across VPI locations while driving operational efficiency. This role oversees all aspects of our inventory systems, cycle counts, and physical inventories, leveraging ERP tools to maintain data integrity and develop stocking strategies that optimize production flow and minimize shortages. Acting as a key partner to Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse teams, the Senior Inventory Control Specialist leads process improvements, ensures compliance, and champions initiatives that strengthen inventory performance and support VPI's operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Oversight: Maintain accurate status of all inventories across all VPI locations, ensuring data integrity and timely updates in ERP systems, including all transactions, movements, and pricing that impact inventory records and valuation.

Warehouse Integrity: Establish and maintain clear, consistent systems for labeling, storage, and inventory transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiencyRight Place, Right Time, Right Quantity.

Cycle Count Management: Lead, develop, implement, and improve cycle count programs to ensure compliance and accuracy of inventory records. Quarterly Physical Inventory: Own and manage the formal Quarterly Physical Inventory process, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance.

Procurement: Manage supplier relationships and procurement activities as needed to support manufacturing and material requirements.

ERP Utilization: Leverage ERP tools to track inventory movements, reconcile discrepancies, and generate actionable reports. Develop and implement stocking quantity strategies within the ERP system to optimize inventory levels, reduce shortages, and support production efficiency.

Root Cause Analysis: Investigate inventory variances, identify systemic issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate inventory control processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse teams to resolve inventory-related issues and support operational goals.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to company policies and contribute to the development of inventory handling, storage, and reporting standards.

Month-End Activities: Prepare and validate inventory data for month-end close, including reconciliation of goods in transit and adjustments.

Training & Leadership: Provide guidance and training to Cycle Count Coordinators and other team members on inventory best practices.

Other Duties as Assigned: Support special projects and initiatives related to inventory management and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree or higher preferred, or relevant manufacturing experience.

510 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or related fieldpreferably in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of ERP systems, manufacturing and inventory management principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office and similar tools for data analysis and reporting. Able to dissect and interpret data and create corrective actions
