Description:

Very Reputable Manufacturer of sophisticated, automated packaging machinery systems seeks a LOGISTICS COORDINATOR to join its team. This is a key role that is open due to the pending retirement of the incumbent. Fast paced role that will work closely with several departments in the company to include Sales, Engineering, Field Service, Manufacturing, and Finance. This individual will work closely with Freight Partners to ship machinery and machinery components to customers in the US, Canada, Mexico, as well as South and Central America, while meeting key customer delivery dates. This individual should have been background in Logistics Coordination within a manufacturing environment, and familiarity with ERP systems. The current person in this role will be retiring in May so looking to have someone on board soon to train with this individual before he retires. Responsibilities:

  • Know the machinery being hauled as there are special aspects to protect.
  • Coordinate with the broker on load plans.
  • Guide the contractors on loading, securing, and routing of the machinery being hauled.
  • Coordinate storage when required.
  • Work with Customs Brokers on International deliveries inbound or outbound.
  • Examines contents and compares with records to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
  • Ensures that carriers are notified for freight pick-up and that the freight is routed properly.
  • Prepares bills of lading and shipping manifests.
  • Traces shipments and obtains proof of delivery.
  • May answer inquiries regarding shipping status and expedite shipment when required.
  • Support Sales team with detailed estimates of freight costs for their own quotes to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions
  • Proficient in MS Office and logistics software
  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
  • 2 years of logistics experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
