The IT Systems Engineer ensures the stability, security, and performance of Kinwell's technology environment supporting clinical and business operations. This cloud-first, healthcare-focused role emphasizes engineering, administration, monitoring, and optimization of modern SaaS and infrastructure platforms.
In this position, the IT Systems Engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary IT team to support core systems and front-line users, applying broad technical knowledge across multiple domains. This role solves moderately complex technical problems, improves system reliability and security, and contributes to continuous improvement of IT services.
The IT Systems Engineer is required to live in the greater Spokane/Spokane Valley area. This is a hybrid position and will travel to Kinwell clinics in Spokane, Spokane Valley, and Pasco as needed to provide onsite support for deployments, upgrades, and high-impact clinical issues.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or four years of relevant work experience.
Three years of experience with applicable systems engineering or related experience.
Strong hands-on systems administration experience in cloud-first environments, including modern identity platforms (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, Okta), endpoint management solutions (e.g., Intune), enterprise SaaS systems (e.g., Microsoft 365 E5 Suite, Netskope), and cloud-managed networking platforms (e.g., Cisco Meraki).
Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure, identity management, endpoint security, and modern SaaS administration within a Microsoft-centric environment.
Ability to troubleshoot moderately complex technical issues across systems, applications, and end-user devices while prioritizing patient care continuity and service levels.
Ability to reliably travel between our clinics in Spokane and Pasco to provide onsite support as needed.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable technical solutions.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner with clinical teams, operational leaders, vendors, and IT colleagues in both remote and onsite settings.
Experience supporting healthcare IT environments, including privacy, security, and regulatory considerations impacting clinical systems and data, as well as support for EHR platforms such as Epic (Preferred).
Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, Azure, Security+) or actively pursuing certification. (Preferred)

This role primarily operates in a hybrid work environment with regular use of standard office technology and collaboration tools. Periodic onsite presence in clinical locations is required to support technology deployments, upgrades, troubleshooting, or high-priority clinical issues. What we offer:
The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range: $89,300.00 - $151,800.00
National Plus Salary Range: $101,900.00 - $173,200.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska
