Through a unique collaboration between Universal Health Services and Providence Health Services, Inland Northwest Behavioral Health Hospital became the first free-standing mental health hospital in the city of Spokane, Washington.

We're looking for a skilled, mission-driven Chef to help elevate the quality of meals served in our Behavioral Health hospital. This role prepares fresh, appealing meals that support patient healing, meet therapeutic diet requirements, and follow all BH safety standards. The Chef works closely with dietitians and the dietary manager to deliver consistent, patient-centered food service.

Position details:

  • Full time 30 to 40 hours per week, weekends included

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Culinary training, certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • 3 or more years of professional cooking experience in Healthcare, School/Institution food service or commercial dining.

Essential job duties/responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality, visually appealing meals for patients and staff
  • Follow therapeutic diet orders, texture modifications, and BH safety protocols
  • Support menu preparation, food production, and presentation standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
  • Assist with inventory, food prep, and teamwork across the dietary department
