Job Description:
The HVAC Sales Engineer will focus on the technical promotion of the products represented by Dorse & Co. and will strive to have our products as the basis of design in construction documents. This position will interface with consulting mechanical engineers, architects, building owners, facility managers, end users, and other entities as deemed appropriate to achieve the basis of design. The ability to educate others regarding product characteristics, performance, and selection is essential. The Engineer will work together with the sales team during bid and project submittal process to ensure project success. This position is based in Spokane, WA with remote work flexibility available.

HVAC exposure is valuable, and applicants with foundations in electrical, plumbing/pipefitting, building automation systems, solar, pneumatics/hydraulics, or similar disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain competency across all represented product lines; develop specialization where appropriate.
  • Provide equipment selections for designers based on specific application requirements.
  • Communicate accurate, timely product information to all stakeholders.
  • Contribute ideas for product promotion and market growth initiatives.
  • Lead engineering appointments and training lunches.
  • Visit job sites or owner facilities to develop solutions or resolve field challenges.
  • Travel with engineers or customers to manufacturer' trainings and seminars.
  • Utilize tools such as Salesforce, Fishbowl, and Greenheck CAPS.

Experience and Requirements:
Required Experience –
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering/technical discipline.
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and a desire to deepen knowledge in HVAC, air movement, and air control devices.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and equipment‑specific software.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to educate others on product characteristics and performance.
Preferred Experience –
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC design or relevant technical experience in adjacent industries (e.g., electrical, plumbing/pipefitting, building automation systems, solar/renewables, pneumatics/hydraulics, or other applied mechanical systems).
  • Working knowledge of controls and mechanical equipment.
