Job Details

JOB PURPOSE:

• Operation of water truck; drive tri-axle and trailer for the asphalt paving team, as needed
• Perform a variety of laborer tasks while on the job site when not driving the water truck

Full-time and Part-time positions are available.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:

• Work with the assigned Grade Crew to efficiently and effectively complete each job
• Complete laborer duties to help grade crew when the water truck is not needed
• Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations; obey all DOT regulations

• Communicate with the foreman and superintendent on proper watering procedures
• Complete the route as quickly as possible while maintaining safety standards
• Be a courteous driver
• Know where to get water and know which district you are in
• Keep accurate records of gallons filled and the location of the fill
• Keep foreign objects (rocks, dirt, etc.) clean and clear before driving away
• Inform the shop foreman of any vehicle problems in writing
• Inform the shop foreman immediately of any DOT fines or citations
• Perform general maintenance on trucks during the shift, including but not limited to checking oil, fuel level, tires, and lights
• Ensure truck and cab are cleaned daily
• Cheerfully greet and talk to customers
• Inform the Trucking Operations Manager, Foreman, and/or Dispatcher of any potential customer issues or complaints
• Complete daily trucking reports in timely and accurately
• Immediately report all injuries to management
