Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Casting Specialist to apply your technical knowledge and expertise in guiding and training customers, as well as our Technical Service Department, on the installation and operation of Wagstaff equipment. This role involves optimizing cast house operations tailored to each site. Expect substantial domestic and international travel.

Salary: $77,000-$90,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the installation and commissioning of Wagstaff equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Deliver expert training and guidance to customers and Technical Service personnel.
  • Analyze supplied data to recommend improvements for casting equipment and processes.
  • Ensure installation sites comply with safety guidelines and operational efficiency.
  • Perform follow-up visits to guarantee proper equipment functioning.
  • Create detailed technical trip reports documenting onsite activities.
  • Adhere to company policies consistently.
  • Participate in research activities related to aluminum casting technologies as needed.
  • Be prepared for domestic and international travel to meet customer and company needs.
  • Occasionally work more than 40 hours per week to achieve business goals.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in report writing.
  • Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering, or at least five years of experience in the metals casting industry, specifically in direct chill casting, or equivalent educational background.
  • Technical understanding of safety precautions in direct chill aluminum casting.

Work Environment:

The job is carried out primarily in a well-lit, climate-controlled office environment. You will frequently engage in close computer work, which generally requires minimal physical exertion with moderate noise levels. There will also be interactions on the manufacturing shop floor, where exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and operating equipment may occur. Coordination with shop floor staff for safety is essential, as is wearing the necessary personal protective equipment.

Travel to customer sites is required, where similar environmental considerations apply.
