Respiratory Care Practitioner - Core (Multiple Positions)
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care services across assigned units, including critical care environments such as PICU and NICU. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of modern respiratory therapy practices and the ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. The RCP will operate advanced respiratory equipment, provide life-support interventions, and ensure optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practices. Clinical Care & Patient Management
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans
Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes
Deliver respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy and airway management
Assist in emergency and resuscitation procedures
Advanced Respiratory Support
Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and life-support systems
Monitor patient response and adjust therapy accordingly
Perform diagnostic procedures and patient assessments
Equipment & Procedures
Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment
Ensure proper use of monitoring and resuscitation devices
Follow all protocols for infection control and patient safety
Collaboration & Compliance
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams across units
Complete required department and unit-specific orientation programs
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
Education meeting requirements for Respiratory Care certification/licensure
Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License (Required upon hire)
BLS Certification - American Heart Association (Required upon hire)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in critical care settings (PICU/NICU preferred)
Experience with ventilators and advanced respiratory support systems
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
