Summary of Functions:

Responsible for managing assigned inventories, maintain appropriate quantities on hand using established par levels and requisitioning or ordering replacement supplies. Maintains labeling system. Adds or deletes supply items when necessary after coordinating with internal customers and vendors. Monitors supply usage to ensure no outdated or obsolete supplies are in stock. Analyzes usage to adjust par levels for maximum efficiency and minimum cost. Interacts regularly with purchasing department to ensure that orders are placed completely and will be delivered in a timely manner to meet customer demands. Researches, records and adjusts quantity counts when discrepancies are found. Coordinates annual counts for assigned inventories. Maintains database in Materials Management information System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulations.
  • Creates and utilizes BI reports in inventory system to monitor accurate levels and turns on inventory.
  • Creates new perpetual inventories as needed for accuracy of tribal assets.
  • Creates new asset inventories as needed for accuracy of tribal assets.
  • Creates new par inventories as needed for department ordering accuracies.
  • Maintain proper min/max for automated purchasing program.
  • Has thorough knowledge of all products and equipment stored in warehouse.
  • Coordinates all aspects of warehouse operations for expedient and efficient delivery of supplies and equipment.
  • Consistently checks inventory to assure adequate and accurate levels of stock are maintained.
  • Accesses computer to determine stock status and adjust counts as needed.
  • Determines the proper location of stock using the computer and receiving documents.
  • Verifies shelves stock properly, always rotating items by expiration dates.
  • Communicates any stock outages or receiving irregularities to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the inventory item master list.
  • Receives shipping documents and enters goods received into the accounting system.
  • Monitors inventory control and reconciles inventory on a monthly basis.
  • Learns, comprehends and complies with all casino policies and procedures, MICS and Gaming Regulations.
  • Ensures control/protection of casino assets.
  • Helping with warehouse functions during peak times.
  • Maintains bar-coding and scanning capabilities.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining new inventory system (Birchstreet).
  • May be required to be a panelist for internal review boards.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Occasionally supervise warehouse personnel.
Education
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of four years experience directly related to inventory control or purchasing.
  • Two years supervisory experience directly related to inventory control or purchasing preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs and other computer software (Birchstreet).
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Knowledge of standard purchasing, receiving and inventory control policies, procedures and practices preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of Hand trucks and Pallet Jack experience is preferred.
  • Assists in the establishment of processes for the effective implementation of the Warehouse Manager's directives.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming Tribal License.
  • Typing speed of 30 words per minute is preferred.
  • Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Demands
  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.
  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Infrequently requires crouching.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
