The Senior Home Loan Underwriter is responsible for analyzing and rendering home loan lending decisions consistent with STCU policies, STCU product details and secondary market investor guidelines. As a senior level position, this role works independently while also providing mentorship and support to other roles as needed. Core Job/ Requirements/ Outcomes. Demonstrate full proficiency and knowledge of home loan underwriting guidelines and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards by staying up to date on all applicable agency rules, investor guidelines and STCU product guidelines. Determine borrower ability to repay and, property and program eligibility by reviewing and analyzing income documentation, asset documentation, credit reports, appraisals, AV - Ms, title reports, etc. as well as validating AUS findings.
