Job Title: Ab Initio Developer
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)

Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Ab Initio Developer with 10+ years of experience in designing and delivering scalable data solutions. This role requires strong hands-on expertise (50-70%) in Ab Initio development, along with advanced SQL skills (must-have) and experience working within AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, data integration frameworks, and modern data platforms, while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines using Ab Initio.
• Build and support data lakes, data warehouses, and large-scale data platforms.
• Work with AWS services such as Glue, S3, and Athena for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
• Lead the design and implementation of data integration frameworks and best practices.
• Perform data modeling (dimensional modeling, OLAP, denormalized structures).
• Ensure data quality, governance, performance optimization, and scalability.
• Support both strategic data initiatives and ad-hoc data analysis requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights and solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering with strong Ab Initio expertise (must-have).
• Strong proficiency in SQL (must-have).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Glue, S3, Athena or equivalent cloud ETL tools).
• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and big data ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Hadoop/MapReduce or similar distributed data platforms.
• Experience with data modeling and database design (relational & NoSQL).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
