Overview

We are seeking a Director, Services to lead the Americas (NALA) oil & gas midstream segment of a global professional services organization responsible for delivering exceptional software implementation outcomes for customers across the energy industry.

This leader will own a services revenue P&L, leading high-performing delivery teams, driving operational and commercial excellence, and accelerating the transformation of the function into a modern, scalable, customer-centric software services organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience leading enterprise software implementation teams, paired with the strategic mindset and execution rigor required to modernize services delivery, improve customer outcomes, and unlock growth within customer accounts. This person will be passionate about creating an outstanding implementation experience that accelerates time to value (TTV), strengthens executive customer relationships, and expands long-term business opportunities across the customer organization.

This role requires a proven leader who is both operationally strong and highly transformational-someone who is forward-looking, innovative, resilient, resourceful, and able to lead at the pace of change.

Responsibilities

Delivery Excellence

  • Establish and enforce delivery best practices, methodologies, governance, quality controls, and success metrics across the implementation portfolio.
  • Improve implementation predictability related to scope, timeline, budget, risk, and resource planning.
  • Drive standardization where appropriate while maintaining flexibility for complex enterprise customer environments.
  • Use operational metrics and customer insights to improve performance, reduce cycle times, and increase implementation success.
Business Leadership and P&L Ownership
  • Own and manage a services revenue P&L, with accountability for growth, profitability, forecasting accuracy, margin performance, utilization, and overall business health.
  • Operate the midstream segment implementation services function as a business, balancing customer success, employee engagement, operational scale, and financial performance.
  • Drive strategic planning, budgeting, capacity planning, and investment decisions to support near-term results and long-term growth.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve commercial performance, delivery efficiency, and organizational scalability.
Regional Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop a NALA-based software implementation services organization, including regional leaders, delivery managers, consultants, project/program leaders, and related services professionals.
  • Build a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, agility, and customer impact.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent while strengthening leadership capability across the organization.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, career paths, succession planning, and team engagement strategies.
Services Transformation
  • Lead the evolution of the implementation services function to align with the expectations of a modern software company.
  • Drive transformation initiatives across delivery models, operating structure, talent strategy, tools, methodologies, governance, and customer engagement.
  • Modernize implementation approaches to improve speed, consistency, predictability, scalability, and customer outcomes.
  • Champion a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation, using data, market insight, and customer feedback to shape the future-state organization.
Customer Experience and Value Realization
  • Ensure delivery of an exceptional end-to-end software implementation experience that results in accelerated adoption, expedited time to value, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner closely with customers and internal stakeholders to create implementation strategies that align with customer goals and business priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level customer relationships, serving as a trusted partner during critical implementations and strategic accounts.
  • Proactively address customer risk, escalation, and satisfaction issues to protect relationships and strengthen long-term value.
Growth and Account Expansion
  • Partner with sales, customer success, product, and support leaders to identify opportunities for account growth, expansion, and deeper customer engagement.
  • Help drive expanded business opportunities within existing customers by ensuring successful implementations that create credibility, trust, and measurable business impact.
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy by aligning implementation services capabilities with customer needs, market demands, and company growth objectives.
  • Support strategic account planning and help grow services and software revenue through strong delivery outcomes and customer advocacy.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in software implementation services, professional services, customer delivery, or consulting, with significant experience leading at scale.
  • Proven experience owning or materially influencing a services P&L, including revenue, margin, forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading global teams responsible for enterprise software implementations in complex customer environments.
  • Strong track record of driving business transformation, organizational change, and operational modernization within a software or technology company.
  • Experience building executive-level customer relationships and influencing outcomes across delivery, customer success, and account growth.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales, product, support, finance, and customer success organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically while driving disciplined operational execution.
  • Ability to serve as a change agent who can lead transformation with urgency, clarity, and credibility.
  • Forward-looking mindset with a strong orientation toward innovation, modernization, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven resilience and resourcefulness in navigating ambiguity, complexity, and organizational change.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to balance customer-centricity with commercial discipline and scalable delivery practices.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a global software company serving the energy industry or other complex asset-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software suites, SaaS transformation, recurring revenue models, and modern services delivery approaches.
  • Experience leading through business model evolution, including transitions toward more scalable, standardized, and value-driven implementation models.
  • Understanding of how implementation quality and customer outcomes directly influence retention, expansion, and long-term account value.
