The primary responsibility of the houseperson position is to maintain the pleasant and tidy appearance of the property. Houseperson staff is also expected to assist in housekeeping duties when needed. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning hallways; cleaning lobby areas and entry ways; emptying ashtrays and trash receptacles; dusting fixtures; replacing light bulbs; cleaning outdoor areas and doing trash patrol; assisting the Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator with projects; delivering items to rooms; general noise control; assisting in unlocking doors; preparation of hotel rooms for rental; cleaning of toilets, sinks, showers, and floors in common areas and guest rooms; changing of linens; light furniture repair; upkeep of linen closets and supplies; and stocking supplies.
