✨ Position Overview

Join a Level III Trauma Center in Spokane as a Sterile Processing Technician and play a critical role in ensuring surgical excellence. This role is ideal for experienced travelers who are confident in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument processing in a fast-paced acute care environment.

📌 Job Details

• Shift: 5x8 Hour Evenings (1500–2300)
• Contract: 13 Weeks (extension possible)
• Weekend Requirement: Occasional
• On-Call: None
• Floating: No
• Scheduling: No block scheduling

🏥 Facility Highlights

• Short Term Acute Care | Level III Trauma Center
• EMR: Epic
• Scrubs: Provided for Surgical Services
• Supportive team in a high-volume OR setting

🩺 Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments
• Assemble, inspect, and organize instrument trays and case carts
• Operate equipment including:
  • Ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, AER systems
• Ensure compliance with aseptic technique and infection control standards
• Handle loaner trays and consignment instruments
• Monitor sterilization using:
  • Biological & chemical indicators
  • Steam, Steris, and Sterrad systems
• Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and flexible endoscope reprocessing

🔬 Equipment & Case Exposure

• Endoscopes: Bronchoscopes, Colonoscopes, EGD, ERCP, EUS, Cystoscopes
• Specialty Instruments:
  • Cardiac, ENT, General Surgery, Laparoscopic, OB/GYN
• Additional equipment: crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps

✅ Requirements

• HSPA (IAHCSMM) or CBSPD Certification – Required
• Minimum 2 years of travel SPT experience – Required
• Strong experience in acute hospital OR setting
• Proficient in endoscope reprocessing & sterilization systems
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
