Proven Expertise in Vacuum Etch and/or Deposition Technologies is preferredWe are currently looking for a regionally (Eastern Region, US) located Field Service/Customer Support Engineer. Perform installation, startup, repair, and Preventative Maintenance of equipment. Work closely with customer and internal resources to resolve service related questions and issues. Manage incoming service calls and help coordinate appropriate actions. Maintain and manage the customer service activity data base. Travel to and/or operate from customer's facility for routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and computer components on vacuum equipment.Essential Responsibilities:On-site support of customerInternal first responder to customer callsInteract with customers on a daily basisMaintain and manage a service scheduleTravel to customer's facility for Installations, Upgrades, Service Contract Preventative Maintenance & On Demand serviceParticipates in on-site system acceptance testing and trainingCoordinate directly with customers for work/travel scheduleAnswers inquiries (telephone, verbal, email, literature, etc.)Assist in new system start up and training with us when neededAdditional Responsibilities:Document service reports, inventory lists, maintenance scheduleWrite Preventative Maintenance procedures and define spares listsDocument Best Known Methods & Best PracticesOther duties as defined by supervisorApply computer/software skills to resolve clients' issuesJob Qualification:Experience working with vacuum deposition and/or etch toolsKnowledge of Vacuum Technology, 5 years of experience desirableExperience troubleshooting electronics and complex mechanical assembliesExperience/knowledge of Thin Film DepositionEvaluate customer Process methods and find efficient alternativesFamiliar with Microsoft Windows OS and Office Suite: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and AutoCadExperience with PLC hardware/software: GE, Automation Direct, or IDEC a plusExcellent communication skills, written and oralProactive, detail oriented, and highly organizedAbility to work in a fast paced environmentExperience in equipment electrical wiring practicesDomestic travel required (~75%) (primarily within the eastern US and NOT for extended periods of time) When not traveling, you will be based out of your home.Must have or be able to get a valid US PassportCandidate must be a US citizenKnowledge/Training:Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawingsAbility to write reports, business correspondenceAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of engineers, technicians, managers, clients and customers.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Ability to troubleshoot software, re-install OS, perform software upgrades and installation, troubleshoot hardware issues, set up peripherals, and help end-users understand our softwareAbility to troubleshoot PLC software & hardware, perform upgradesTrain customers on operating our software#J-18808-Ljbffr
