Carpenter Opportunity

LaRiviere Inc. is looking for a carpenter for the Coeur d' Alene Idaho/ Spokane Washington area. Preferred skills would include framing, layout, siding (metal & lap), concrete forms, roofing, and general construction. The ideal candidate would be a self motivated, multi tasker, that can take instruction from a foreman.

Key Responsibilities

Carpenters are involved in various phases of construction from the initial framework to the final touches.

Their responsibilities typically include:

• Interpreting blueprints and drawing up plans to determine materials required and a plan of action.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other construction materials.
• Constructing building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes.
• Framing - ensuring structures are level, square, and securely assembled.
• Installing features such as siding, roofing, and other materials.
• Managing construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety and health regulations.

Common Tasks and Duties

In addition to overarching responsibilities, carpenters must perform specific tasks that crucially support the integrity and progress of construction projects:

• Operating tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and sanders.
• Using leveling devices to ensure accurate installation of structures.
• Collaborating with other construction professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and architects to ensure specifications are met.
• Performing minor calculations to assess load requirements and material dimensions.
