Authorized Security Officer

Join a dedicated team focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, visitors, and vendors across a regional healthcare district in the Pacific Northwest. This role involves conducting thorough security rounds both inside and outside the facility, acting as a first responder to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service with clear communication across departments.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols on foot or by vehicle to monitor assigned areas.
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility's interior and exterior.
  • Serve as a liaison and public relations representative for security and safety concerns.
  • Respond promptly to calls for assistance and support medical personnel as needed.
  • Coordinate efforts with law enforcement, firefighters, medical staff, and management.
  • Inspect doors and windows to ensure security and integrity.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license mandatory.
  • Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire.
  • One to three years of experience in law enforcement or security, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required training within six months includes HIPAA, Restraint Training, and Emergency Code Training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • IAHSS Basic Security Officer certification.
  • Previous security experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Healthcare-focused de-escalation training such as AVADE or CPI.

  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and organizational ethics.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability in attendance and task completion.
  • Communicate courteously and respectfully with patients, guests, and staff.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation starts between the beginning and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications and experience, with annual incremental increases.
