Job Details

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Engineering and Roads. Performs road design, traffic analyses and design, stormwater facility design, and structural design. Directs and checks the work of technicians, consultants and lower level engineers preparing contract plans, specifications, estimates for contract documents. Reviews plans and studies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; manages technical aspects of projects, including computer modeling, data collection and monitoring. Resolves problems on failing systems, determines cause of failure and determines best approach to remedy problem. Responds to public questions in person, in writing and by phone; plans and conducts workshops on engineering issues. Prepares applications for federal and state grants for various projects. Prepares reports, testimony, and presentations on engineering issues for community groups and public hearing.
