IT Systems Administrator 1 is the entry classification in this series. Incumbents deliver technical expertise in at least two defined technology areas and act as a specialist, providing consultation to customers and/or staff members in at least one other area. IT Systems Administrator 2 is the second and journey-level classification in this series. Employees in this classification possess in-depth experience regarding configuration, management and troubleshooting of enterprise software packages, network environments (routers/switches/firewalls/software defined networks),current server, virtual and storage environment technologies, understanding of TCP/ IP and network management tools. These positions are differentiated from those in the IT Systems Administrator 1 classification by the greater complexity of work requiring a higher level of expertise and less supervision.
