Description:

Rockwood South Hill is looking for a reliable individual to join our Transportation Department as a Driver . The primary purpose of this position will be to provide reliable and safe transportation to/from non-emergency medical appointments, pharmacy, and grocery pick-up and delivery. This position would also provide assistance to the Activity Department.Pay Range$19.00 – $19.50 per hourShift TypePart-timeResponsibilitiesTransport residents to and from scheduled trips, i.e. medical appointments, day outings, and evening events including weekend driving needsComplete necessary reports, forms, etc. for appropriate pre-trip/post-trip, sanitation on vehicle prior, during, and after a work shiftMaintain a safe and clean work environmentAbility to assist residents with transferring in and out of vehiclesAbility to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work scheduleSuccessfully complete Rockwood's employment orientationContinue to pass the mandatory drug and alcohol random testingAssist the department with a variety of transportation needs when necessaryMaintain confidentiality of all resident information, and become knowledgeable of resident rightsRefer any resident concern to the appropriate manager in written form for appropriate interventionAssist in special functions under the direction of the Transportation Lead and Resident Engagement and Services Manager.Be present, on time, and ready for work on each assigned dayBe professional, timely, considerate, and kind to both residents and other Rockwood Team MembersRequired Skills and ExperienceValid Drivers license with good driving historyTrained in CPR or must acquire CPR Certification within 45 days of hire date3 years of driving experience. Must provide a Driver's Abstract.1-year experience working with or in a senior community preferredExperience driving large wheelchair type van/bus preferredExcellent communication skills, with a demonstrated capacity to network with inter-departments and community resourcesExcellent organization skills to handle multiple complex projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independentlyAbility to research area locations and map out destinations via a computer programExcellent customer service attitudePhysical RequirementAbility to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, tie‑down wheelchairs, go up and down stairs on vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
