Safety And Occupational Health Specialist

As a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, you will:

1. Participate with the supervisor, technical experts and managers from other organizations, and the Chief Safety Officer in the establishment of safety and occupational health requirements applicable to numerous construction, operation, and maintenance activities.
2. Identify, analyze and evaluate a variety of hazards, many involving complex changing work operations, diverse environmental conditions and human-machine relations.
3. Direct or oversee the systematic compilation and analysis of mishap data and hazards to property.
4. Serve as a trained accident investigator to determine cause of accidents and methods of mitigation.
5. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory (federal, state and local) requirements, applicable consensus standards and BPA policy surrounding the programmatic scope.
6. Develop and maintain a hazard-specific, comprehensive, BPA-wide hazard mitigation program sufficient to maintain BPA's leadership as an industry leader in transmission safety.
