Shift - 930 PM - 630 AM (M-F) Position Overview The Production Supervisor leads day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, and production targets. You will supervise production teams across shifts, manage scheduling and capacity, coordinate material and inventory planning via MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies. This role requires hands-on problem solving with equipment (CNC, PLCs, robotics, conveyors), enforcing GMP/ISO and OSHA standards, and collaborating with maintenance, quality, and planning to optimize throughput and product quality. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach production teams across shifts, ensuring staffing, training, performance management, and adherence to SOPs.
- Develop and execute production and shift schedules, including capacity planning and shift scheduling to meet customer demand and on-time delivery targets.
- Operate and manage MRP/ERP processes (including SAP) for production orders, Bill of Materials (BOM) control, and materials planning to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Maintain quality control through Statistical Process Control (SPC), in-line inspections, and adherence to GMP, ISO standards and food safety requirements when applicable.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen) to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase first-pass yield.
- Ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA), conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions and safety training.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis for equipment faults and process deviations; coordinate with maintenance for repairs, TPM activities, and calibration.
- Oversee operation and integration of industrial automation systems including PLCs, robotics, CNC machines, conveyor systems and tooling to maximize uptime.
- Manage packaging, assembly line balancing and shop floor control to optimize flow and reduce bottlenecks.
- Control inventory accuracy and participate in cycle counts, implement inventory management best practices and liaise with purchasing for material replenishment.
- Maintain production documentation, update SOPs, prepare production reports and KPIs, and communicate results to operations leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain to launch new products, process changes and continuous improvement projects.
